Our chaplains are currently very heavily involved in response to evacuation centres operating in the mid north coast and north of NSW.

At this point we have 17 chaplains in place in 9 evacuation centres with many more of our 326 ready to move today as the needs become apparent.

New National Body Representing Volunteer Disaster Recovery Ministry

A new body has been formed to bring together the leaders of state and territory-based volunteer disaster recovery and emergency chaplaincy networks from across Australia.  The Australian Volunteer Emergency Chaplaincy Alliance (AVECA) was formed through the interaction of the leaders over a period of years.
